Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated: 26 August 2026.
1. Booking cancellations
This is the policy actually enforced by Amplify when a Venue or Performer cancels a confirmed booking. It is deliberately not the same in both directions — a Venue cancelling late costs the Performer a booking they were relying on; a Performer cancelling late costs the Venue nothing financially, since the fairest remedy there is a full refund plus a mark against the Performer’s own reliability record, not a fee neither side has a mechanism to collect from the Performer directly.
- 7 or more days before the booking, or force majeure (circumstances beyond either party’s reasonable control): cancellation is free for either side — no fee, full refund.
- Venue cancels between 24 hours and 7 days before the booking: the Performer is paid 50% of their agreed fee as compensation for the booking; the Venue is refunded the remainder.
- Venue cancels fewer than 24 hours before the booking — including on the day of the booking, or after the Performer has already arrived: the Performer is paid their full agreed fee (100%) as compensation — at that notice there is no realistic way for them to fill the slot with other work.
- Performer cancels fewer than 7 days before the booking: the Venue is refunded in full — no fee applies — and the cancellation is recorded against the Performer’s own reliability record (counted twice for a no-show, since there was no warning at all).
Where a digital payment has already been taken through Amplify, any refund follows the split above. Refunds are returned to the original Stripe payment method, typically within 5–10 business days; a Performer’s compensation is paid out to them directly, the same way a normal payout is.
Where a booking is settled by cash or another method outside Amplify, cancellation and any refund is a matter directly between the Venue and the Performer — Amplify is not a party to that payment.
2. Subscription cancellations (Venues)
Core and Pro subscription plans are billed monthly in advance. You can cancel your subscription at any time, effective at the end of the current billing period — you will not be charged again after that, but we do not provide a pro-rata refund for the unused portion of the current period.
New venue accounts start with a 30-day free trial of Core. No payment is taken during the trial, so there is nothing to refund if you cancel before it ends. If you don’t cancel, your card is automatically charged for the first month once the trial ends, and the standard subscription cancellation terms above apply from that point on. We’ll email you a reminder a few days before the trial ends so this is never a surprise. The older, no-card Pilot plan some existing venues may still be on likewise involves no payment.
3. Disputed charges
If you believe you have been charged in error, contact us at hello@amplifymymusic.co.uk before raising a dispute with your bank or card provider, so we can look into it directly.
